The late graphic artist Tom of Finland, aka Touko Laaksonen, is to be recognized for his achievments as an artist and style icon by Finland, as the Post Office plans to release commemmorative stamps with his designs in September 2014.
Here is a quote from the Finnish postal service:
His emphatically masculine homoerotic drawings have attained iconic status in their genre and had an influence on, for instance, pop culture and fashion. In his works, Tom of Finland utilized the self-irony and humor typical of subcultures. During his career, Tom of Finland produced more than 3,500 drawings… The drawings on the stamp sheet represent strong and confident male figures typical of their designer.
Here are the stamps:
I think it is wonderful for the country of Finland to take such pride in Tom of Finland to recognize him is this manner. Also, what a gorgeous stamp! Were I there, I would buy them up both to use and collect!
Ever busy modeling, François Sagat, seems unable to take a bad picture. No, the camera loves him! Check out his blog, Facebook, and new endeavors such as Loverboy Magazine [where he even gets to pose as his favorite – a blond, posing for artist Ross Watson, Jean Paul Gaultier, and KickSagat.

The hunkalicious and sexy Rogan Richards was recently both a featured artist and subject at the Company of Men exhibition. But that was not nearly enough for him or curator Damien Hinds. They collaborated on a live performance for Rogan. A video of that performance is available and presented.
“Rogan Richards isn’t the type of personality who can be summed up in a few words. He’s larger than life yet carries no trace of ego, he exudes confidence but isn’t afraid of showing his vulnerability, he’s an intimidating force that’s surprisingly welcoming.” “…he’s not at all like you’d expect, and that perhaps is what makes him so fascinating.” Peter Gray from Q News.
Damien Hinds approached me about the Company of Men exhibition, a celebration of what it is to be a gay man through the eyes of gay artists, late 2013 after seeing my ‘White Walls’ photographic series. I was excited to have my photography on display for the first time but of course I couldn’t leave it at that…
There was an old elevator shaft in the gallery space and with the help of Damien I quickly transformed the shaft into a naked, sweaty, muscle play area where gallery attendees could watch me do my thing from above.
I called it “The Pit”
