I’m so excited! I cannot believe I am going to Chicago for the 2012 Grabby Awards and the International Mr. Leather Competition. I will be there as press, to take photos, just like I did in 2010 for the GAYVNs and the Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco.
I arrive early in the afternoon on THURSDAY, May 24th. The first party is this one:
Sounds like tons of porn stars will be there, so I will probably go and take some photos.
On FRIDAY the 25th, the Leather Market opens at the Hyatt Regency Chicago at Noon, and I need to check that out, since I have never been.
FIRDAY night however, is the busiest night of the weekend! IML Opening Ceremonies begin at 9 PM in the Hyatt Regency Chicago Grand Ballroom, but at the same time, there are the following parties:
The Tim & Roma Show is from 6 – 9 PM, but is 5 miles North of where the IML Opening ceremonies is held at 9; but I do love Roma! However, the Forsaken party is only a further 4 miles North of the show:
And I have yet to meet Ricky and Spencer. I would love to meet Draven!
PLUS THERE IS A PARTY AT THE LUCKY HORSESHOE AT WHICH ALEXSANDER FREITAS WILL BE.
PLUS THERE IS A PARTY FOR HOT HOUSE:
THAT BOASTS A LIVE SEX SHOW BEGINNING AT MIDNIGHT! OH MY GOD! CHOICES!
The following day is of course, the GRABBYS! Doors open at the Park West Theater at 6, and I have to be there early to photograph the red carpet.The show begins at 7:30. [Unfortunately, the Grabbys conflicts with the Pecs and Physical Competition Portion of IML! That just sucks!]
Then there is an after party at the Lucky Horseshoe Lounge on 3169 N. Halsted that begins at 9pm.
I will probably return to the hotel and get changed first if I attend this party at all.
The following day, is huge for IML, as the final 34th Annual Competition is held in the Hyatt Regency Chicago Ballroom. Doors open at 5, event begins at 6.
After the IML Competition, I plan to head to the after party at the House of Blues on 329 North Dearborn. This means that I will forgo these two parties:
Sometimes I wish I could clone myself – this is one of those times.
